Do you provide a formal diagnosis?
A diagnosis can help guide treatment, but it does not speak to your experience of the identified condition or the strengths that you bring to the equation. It has been developed through finding the average, which is scientifically correct but relationally bereft. You are not average, you have unique experiences and perspectives. We will work to form a more holistic picture beyond the symptoms. I will, of course, recommend a diagnosis when necessary or encourage further exploration. If you are wanting to be reimbursed through your insurance company a diagnosis is required in order to prove the medical necessity of the therapy.
What conditions do you treat?
I am open to helping with a variety of concerns. I have experience and success in helping people deal with anxiety, depression, attachment concerns, and trauma. It is less about the problem and more about if we are a good match to do the work together. If you are looking for therapy that is supportive, expressive, and informed by brain based approaches then it could be a good fit.

Are you available after hours?
While I want to support your family in times of crisis, as a solo practitioner I simply do not have the resources to provide extensive crisis intervention services. Should it be determined that a higher level of care is needed I will assist in the transfer process. If you have a life-threatening emergency, you should call 911 or go to the hospital emergency room of your choice. After hour mental health resources may also be accessed through the Georgia Crisis Access Line at 1-800-715-4225.
How soon will you contact me back?
I am in the office Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and during the work week I will make every attempt to return calls and emails the same day. If for some reason I am unable to respond that day I will follow up within the next 24 business hours. Calls and emails received over the weekend or on holidays will be returned as soon as possible the following week. I am not always immediately available to answer calls and respond to emails during the day, mostly because I am with clients for much of that time.
What about my health insurance?
At this time, I have elected to operate as a self-pay practice, meaning that I am not in network with any insurance companies (apart from the Medicaid CMO Amerigroup) and do not communicate directly with insurance companies. I will, upon request, provide a statement (commonly known as a “superbill”) for you to file with your insurance company in order to seek out-of-network reimbursement. It will be your responsibility to determine eligibility and process for claiming out-of-network benefits and complete whatever the requirements may be to file said claim.
How long will therapy take?
This really depends on too many circumstances to give a general answer. I understand that therapy can be a significant investment and strive to provide the best value for that investment. Therapy is not a quick fix or an easy solution, there is going to be some time involved. When you first begin therapy, I recommend that you attend weekly sessions in order to help establish a routine and develop the treatment goals. Most of my clients meet once a week until close to the end of their therapy. Of course, I recognize that there are sometimes obstacles to continued weekly sessions. We can discuss what frequency of sessions will work best for your specific needs.
Do you testify in court on behalf of clients?
I do not offer testimony and expect not to be subpoenaed to court. This policy is set in order to preserve the integrity of the therapeutic process and relationship with you and/or your child(ren). When there are custody issues involved or an impending divorce it is important to note that I am not a custody evaluator and cannot make any recommendations on custody. If needed, can refer you to a licensed professional who does provide custody evaluations. It is beyond the scope of my practice to make any recommendations regarding child custody.
What is the cancellation policy?
Booking an appointment is contracting a time for delivery of professional services. If you should need to cancel an appointment please do give as much notice as possible, this will permit me to offer that time to another individual. You may request a cancellation or reschedule your appointment via phone, text, or email. Because the appointment time has been set aside and I will have prepared in advance for our session, cancellations made within 24-hours will incur a late-cancellation fee equal to the full session fee. Scheduled appointments that are not attended and not cancelled by the client will also incur a late-cancellation fee equal to the full session fee.

Fees & Payment

Initial Intake Session (90 Min): $150
Client/Family Session (50-55 Min): $120
A limited number of reduced fee slots are available and are extended based on documented financial need and circumstances. Applications are available upon request.

In all cases payment is due at the time of service and clients will not be able to carry a balance. This includes both session fees and fees accumulated for additional services. Payments can be made by credit card, check, or cash.

Client Portal

Clients can access billing information, update payment and contact information and send secure messages through the client portal.
